A Bangladeshi man, missing in Saudi Arabia for seven days, has been found in police custody, says family.
Md Nayeem, 22, hailing from Comilla’s Titas upazila, had been missing since April 10, his brother Ibrahim Khalil said.
He said that on April 15, Al Amin, a man from the neighboring village living in Saudi Arabia’s Abha city, called him to let him know that his brother was missing.
“I requested him to find out information from the administrative offices and on Saturday, he informed me that my brother is in police custody. He will be released if his superiors go there,” he added.
“We heard that he only has permission to work in Riyadh city. Police arrested him because he went to Abha,” he added.
There are four Indian nationals and a Bangladeshi national with him, said Khalil, adding: “We are trying to inform his superiors. Hopefully we will bring him back soon.”
Nayeem went to Saudi Arabia on July 16, 2021 and had been living in Riyadh since then.
