Bangabandhu Corner set up at Seoul National University library

It has the Korean versions of the historic March 7 speech, ‘Bangabandhu: The People’s Hero’ and ‘The Unfinished Memoirs’ in its collection

As part of the birth centenary celebrations of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Embassy of Bangladesh in Seoul has established a Bangabandhu Corner at the main campus library of Seoul National University (SNU).

The inauguration event was attended by Ambassador Abida Islam, Seoul National University Library General Director Kim Myung Hwan and the officials of the embassy and the university. 

Thanking the ambassador, General Director Kim Myung Hwan handed over a letter of appreciation to Ambassador Abida Islam.

SNU is one of the top-ranking public universities in Korea and presently it is ranked 36th in the QS World University Rankings 2022; more than 35,000 students are pursuing higher studies at the university.

The SNU library contains more than five million books and 2.5 million academic and electronic journals. 

The Bangabandhu Corner at SNU contains the Korean versions of the historic March 7 speech, “Bangabandhu: The People’s Hero” and “The Unfinished Memoirs”. 

The corner also has a number of publications in English on Bangabandhu, his life and political philosophy, history of Bangladesh’s War of Liberation, including a few on the rich cultural heritage and tradition of Bangladesh.  

All these publications of the Bangabandhu Corner will inspire students to enrich their knowledge about Bangabandhu, including his life, political philosophy and his contributions to founding an independent Bangladesh.

The embassy inaugurated another Bangabandhu Corner at the main campus library of Yonsei University in Seoul on July 26 and also donated publications on Bangabandhu for the library of Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
