195 Bangladeshis stranded in Canada, owing to travel restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic, have returned to Bangladesh.
The chartered Qatar Airways flight with the returnees landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 7:41am on Friday, confirmed Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan, the airport director.
In collaboration with the Bangladesh High Commission in Ottawa, and the Bangladesh Consulate General in Toronto, the flight left for Bangladesh on Wednesday night (Canada time), under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Earlier, the Bangladesh government extended a flight ban to and from all countries except China till May 30.
