In order to prevent the spread of coronavirus, the Bangladesh embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has suspended all its services till March 31 by order of the host government.
All the services provided by the labour welfare wing at the Bangladesh consulate general in Jeddah will also remain suspended till the end of this month. However, the suspension of services by the consulate general will be effective from Thursday.
Some phone numbers were, however, provided for any emergencies, according to the circulars issued by the embassy and consulate general on Wednesday.
“To prevent the deadly spread of coronavirus, all types of services of the Bangladesh embassy will be suspended from March 18 to March 31 at the directive of Saudi foreign ministry,” said the notice with respect to the embassy.
But in case of extreme emergencies, individuals can contact the following toll-free numbers from Sunday to Thursday between 8:00am and 6:00pm.
Diplomatic services and others – 8001000124; labour welfare – 8001000125; consular services – 8001000126.
The expatriate service centres, approved by the embassy, will also remain closed during the period.
In relation to the consulate general in Jeddah, the notice, citing the same reason as that noted by the embassy, mentioned that services of the labour welfare wing would be suspended from March 19 till March 31.
