Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent Bangladesh's famous "Fazli" mangoes from Rajshahi, along with flowers, to newly appointed British Prime Minister Boris Johnson during her visit in London as a mark of her good wishes for Johnson.

The prime minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim gave the information to UNB over the phone on Saturday.

"The prime minister sent Rajshahi's Fazli - the king of mangoes - along with flowers to Boris Johnson after his assumption of office as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on Thursday," he said.

Ihsanul said the officials of the British prime minister cordially received the gifts of his Bangladeshi counterpart, and said that they would take them to Boris Johnson.

Earlier, the prime minister sent the same gifts to Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace in the British capital, Ihsanul added.

Sheikh Hasina went to London on an official visit on July 19 to attend Bangladeshi envoys' conference and other programs.
