Bangladesh envoy in Libya narrowly escapes bullet

Update : 25 Feb 2017, 04:28 PM
Charge d'Affairs of Bangladesh Embassy to Libya Muhammad Mozammel Haque has escaped narrowly being hit by a bullet while attending a programme at the embassy. Citing an embassy diplomat, UNB reported that three bullets pierced the embassy wall, with one narrowly missing Mozammel by inches, on day two of an "Amar Ekushey" programme on the embassy premises on Friday evening. The incident happened during a fierce fight between two rival groups, where a few mistargeted bullets landed on the embassy grounds. "It was not a targeted hit. It actually fell near my feet. The charge d'Affairs was present," another official told UNB. "We are all safe ... any of our guests also could have been injured had it hit someone's head," he added.
