Meghalaya chief minister calls for better trade, tourism relations with Bangladesh

Update : 16 Mar 2018, 04:52 PM
Newly-elected Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Thursday drove home the point to improve trade and tourism relations with Bangladesh and mooted the formation of an “Act South Policy” besides the Centre’s “Act East Policy.” Speaking at an international conference on the theme “Recent Advances in Educational Psychology” organized by North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Conrad Sangma emphatically stated that Meghalaya should look south as well because the state shares a long boundary with Bangladesh. He also laid emphasis on a good policy for ameliorating trade and tourism between Meghalaya and Bangladesh.
