US-Bangla plane crash: Civil aviation minister meets Nepali PM

Civil Aviation Minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal is holding a meeting with Nepal’s Prime Minister Khadga Prasad Oli over crash of a plane operated by Bangladeshi airline US-Bangla. Kamal will brief the media about the meeting’s decisions at 1pm on Wednesday. At least 50 people died as the aircraft carrying 67 passengers and four crew crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday. The exact cause of the accident remains unknown. After meeting Nepal’s army chief Gen Rajendra Chhetri on Wednesday morning, Civil Aviation Minister Kamal said he would discuss a number of issues with Prime Minister Oli. They issues include identification of the bodies and handover process, arranging better treatment for the injured and bringing a medical team from Bangladesh.
