DU Persian Debating Club hosts ‘Fusion Fest’

The Persian Debating Club of the Department of Persian Language and Literature at the University of Dhaka hosted “Fusion Fest” on January 20.

The event featured a range of stalls organized and run by students of the department, highlighting their entrepreneurial initiatives and creative skills. The stalls drew significant interest from attendees.

Key attractions of the festival included a satirical debate and a Treasure Hunt Competition, both of which saw enthusiastic participation from students.

Dean of the Faculty of Arts Professor Dr Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan attended the Treasure Hunt Competition as the chief guest. The programme was also attended by Professor Mohammad Abul Kawser, provost of Sir P J Hartog International Hall; Dr Mumit Al Rashid, chairman of the Department of Persian Language and Literature; and faculty members from the departments of Persian Language and Literature, World Religions and Culture, Urdu, Music, and other disciplines.

Prizes were awarded to the winning team at the conclusion of the Treasure Hunt Competition.

Organisers said the event aimed to promote creativity, teamwork and leadership among students, while strengthening academic and cultural bonds within the Persian Language and Literature community.
