The International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT), the first non-government university in Bangladesh, hosted the Students and Alumni Research Excellence Celebration Ceremony 2025 on Wednesday, at 3pm at the university campus.
The event, organized by the Miyan Research Institute, was designed to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding research contributions of IUBAT’s current students and alumni.
This initiative reflects IUBAT’s unwavering commitment to cultivating a strong research culture and promoting academic excellence that contributes to national and global development.
The ceremony commenced with a welcome address by Professor Dr Sajal Saha, director of the Miyan Research Institute. The event was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT, Professor Dr Abdur Rab. Also present were Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Mahmudur Rahman and Treasurer and Executive Member of the Miyan Research Institute, Professor Selina Nargis.
In his address, the vice-chancellor applauded the commendable efforts of student and alumni researchers for their contributions in various disciplines, including agriculture, engineering, business, and public health.
He emphasized the need for sustained research endeavors to address contemporary challenges and underscored the critical role of academic inquiry in national progress and sustainable development.
The event was also graced by the presence of Registrar Professor Dr Md Momtazur Rahman, Controller of Examinations Brigadier General (Retd) Dr Md Zahid Hossain, along with faculty members, alumni, students, and guests.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates and tokens of appreciation to high-performing researchers and contributors.
This celebration reaffirms IUBAT’s dedication to its founding mission of “An Environment Designed for Learning” and to the legacy of its visionary founder, Professor Dr M Alimullah Miyan.
