The Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) hosted a Freshers’ Reception for the academic session 2025–2026 on Sunday at the Shaheed Yamin Auditorium, officially welcoming 860 newly admitted students, including 173 military students of 11Bsc engineering and architecture departments, to the institute.
The program began with the National Anthem, followed by a detailed briefing on the academic and administrative affairs of MIST through a presentation and visual showcase, said a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Two current students shared their enriching experiences and insights of their student life. In addition, a few interested students from the new batch expressed their excitement and aspirations, while several parents shared their satisfaction with MIST’s disciplined and supportive academic environment.
Maj Gen Md Nasim Parvez, commandant of MIST attended the program and congratulated the freshers on their admission to the institute. He encouraged them to embrace discipline, innovation and learning. He emphasized the importance of active participation in co-curricular activities such as robotics, cultural and literary pursuits, cybersecurity, debate, and aeronautics to foster leadership and all-round development.
The ceremony was attended by deans, department heads, faculty members, staff, parents, and the newly admitted students — collectively reflecting the spirited beginning of a new academic year at MIST, said the press release.
