A national photography exhibition titled “F11 See Sharp Season II” (Second Phase) began on Friday at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, showcasing the works of emerging photographers from across the country.
Organised by the Independent Photography Club of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), the two-day exhibition from Friday to Saturday (April 11–12) received nearly 7,500 submissions from 1,138 participants in two categories—Single Photograph and Photo Stories.
From these, 48 individual photographs and 7 photo stories were selected for display.
HE Achim Tröster, ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Bangladesh and Mustafa Zaman, director of the Department of Fine Arts at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, attended the opening ceremony as special guests.
Also present were Prof Dr Zakir Hossain Raju, head of the Department of Media and Communication at IUB, Refat Ara Jerin, lecturer and coordinator of the Independent Photography Club, Atif M Safi, head of the Division of Student Activities and Tanvir Ahmed Haroon, coordinator of LFE.
The exhibition presents a vibrant and diverse collection of photographs that capture powerful moments, everyday beauty and compelling visual narratives.
Following the inauguration, the distinguished guests toured the exhibition and commended the creativity and perspectives of the young photographers.
The second phase will continue at the Shilpakala Academy until Saturday.
The third phase of the exhibition is scheduled to be held at Hotel InterContinental Dhaka on Friday.
All segments of the exhibition are free and open to the public.
Earlier, the first phase of F11 See Sharp Season II was held at the IUB campus from Tuesday to Thursday (April 8–10) and was inaugurated by IUB Vice Chancellor Professor M Tamim.
The closing ceremony is scheduled to take place on April 20 at IUB.
