Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) has appointed Prof Dr Giuseppe Sapienza as teaching and learning educationist to strengthen teaching practices, develop faculty capacities and enhance the learning environment for students.
Sapienza has more than 20 years of international experience and has held senior academic and administrative positions at universities across Europe, Asia and the Pacific, including vice rector, provost, research director and director of quality assurance.
His expertise includes faculty development, curriculum design, academic quality assurance, research management and integrated educational strategy.
He has worked with international organizations, including the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), World Health Organization (WHO) and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA). He has also helped establish more than 100 international partnerships.
Sapienza holds a PhD in Education and a master's degree in Philosophy from the University of Catania, Italy. He has also completed Leadership of Learning training at Harvard University and holds a Certificate in Quality of Education Systems from the University of Padua, Italy.
