Bangladesh can achieve rapid economic progress by following South Korea's economic development model, said South Korean Ambassador Park Yong-sik.

He was speaking at a seminar titled "Korea's Strategy for Economic Development and its Lessons," held at the Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) in Comilla on Tuesday.

The seminar was part of an international training workshop attended by 220 officials, including trainees from 12 countries, as well as members of the BCS (Health) and BCS (Education) cadres.

BARD Director General Saif Uddin Ahmed presided over the event.

In his keynote speech, Ambassador Park Yong-sik highlighted the key strategies behind South Korea's economic success, emphasizing that Bangladesh, as a key development partner of South Korea, can overcome its current challenges by adopting similar approaches.

"South Korea’s journey demonstrates how effective planning and strategic implementation can drive significant economic transformation. Bangladesh has immense potential to replicate this success," he said.

The ambassador underscored the importance of collaboration and knowledge-sharing between the two nations to foster sustainable development.
