Dhaka Tribune Editor Zafar Sobhan is set to hold a discussion with renowned translator, critic and academic Prof Kaiser Hamidul Haq on Friday.
The event, Book Talk, will centre on two of Kaiser Haq's books, "Streets of Dhaka: Collected Poems" and "The Collected Poems of Shahid Suhrawardy."
The conversation will take place at 4pm at the University Press Limited head office located at 74/B/1 RH Home Center, Green Road, Dhaka.
Known for his translations from Bangla into English, Kaiser Haq is a recipient of the Bangla Academy Literary Award in the translation category.
Prof Haq was a commonwealth scholar at Warwick University, a senior Fulbright scholar and Vilas fellow at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee (1986-87), and a royal literary fund fellow at SOAS, London University (2002-2003).
He is a former professor of English at the University of Dhaka.
Prof Kaiser Haq is currently a professor and dean at the School of Arts and Humanities of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).
