The national Vitamin-A Plus campaign will be held on Saturday, from 8am to 4pm, across the country.
This time, the nationwide campaign, organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, is expected to administer Vitamin-A plus capsules to over 20 million children aged between six months and five years.
Vitamin-A plus capsules prevent childhood blindness, while increasing disease prevention capabilities in a child. It also plays a vital role in reducing child mortality.
The vitamin supplement is essential for the normal functioning of the visual system, maintenance of cell function for growth, red blood cell production and immunity, as well as reproduction.
