Voter turnout in the 13th National Parliamentary Election held on February 12 reached 59.44%, according to the Election Commission of Bangladesh (EC).
The information was released on Friday at 11:30 a.m. through a brief statement by Md Ruhul Amin Mallik, Director of the EC’s Public Relations Division.
Earlier, the EC had indicated that turnout figures would be announced late Thursday. Officials explained that including postal votes in most constituencies required additional time to ensure accuracy, and immediate statistics could have been misleading. The final turnout was confirmed only after the completion of the vote count.
