Balloting in the fourth phase of the sixth upazila parishad elections went underway on Wednesday morning.
The voting began at 8am and was set to continue till 4pm without any break.
A total of 721 candidates are in the electoral race against 180 posts at 60 upazila councils.
Over 14.3 million voters are registered under 5,144 polling stations in the 60 upazilas, according to factsheets provided by the Election Commission on Tuesday.
Electronic voting machines will be used in six upazilas and paper ballots in others.
The first phase of the elections took place in 139 upazila parishads on May 8, the second phase in 156 upazilas on May 21 and the third phase in 90 upazilas on May 29.
