A group of miscreants set fire to a pickup van in Fatullah, Narayanganj, on Friday evening, ahead of a two-day nationwide hartal called by the BNP and its allies as part of their movement to boycott the upcoming election.
The pickup van was set on fire in the Panchabati area around 6:15pm.
Fatullah Model police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nure Azam confirmed the information to the media.
Police said locals doused the blaze before a fire engine reached the spot.
On Thursday, the BNP and the Jamaat-e-Islami separately announced a 48-hour hartal from Saturday to Sunday.
