At least 12 people have been injured in a factional clash among followers of Dhaka-10 MP aspirant Ferdous Ahmed during an election campaign program in Central road area in Dhaka.
The incident took place on Saturday afternoon.
The injured people are undergoing treatment at the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Md Kamal, sub-inspector of New Market police station confirmed the matter.
He said that the police went to the hospital after hearing the news. “Right now we are collecting the information of the injured. I can't say anything in details now.”
One Sahed Ali, who came with the injured people, said that a group of people led by Imam Hossain, Awami League president of ward no 18, joined the election campaign of Ferdous and began the altercation between the activists.
