Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has urged opposition to those rejecting the upcoming national election in Bangladesh, branding them as forces of evil.

According to him, those against the elections undermine Bangladesh's politics.

Quader made these remarks while speaking to reporters after paying tribute to martyrs at the National Martyrs' Memorial in Savar on Saturday morning.

He highlighted historical incidents such as the murder of Bangabandhu's family and prominent organizers of the freedom struggle, emphasizing the challenges faced by Bangladesh's democracy.

Reflecting on the 21 years of democracy in chains after Bangabandhu's assassination, Quader commended the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for revitalizing democracy, leading to Bangladesh's development and achieving the status of the 35th economy in the world.

Quader outlined the achievements of Bangladesh, including poverty reduction and the vision for a Smart Bangladesh by 2100.

However, he expressed concerns about the obstacles posed by sectarianism, militancy, and communalism, particularly under the leadership of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

The general secretary emphasized that the evil forces opposing the election aim not only to establish communalism but also to destroy the progress of politics in the country.

Quader called for unity to resist and defeat these forces, expressing the commitment to building Bangabandhu's dream Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
