Ashraful Hossen Alom, popularly known as Hero Alom, has revealed that he has collected a nomination form for the 12th parliamentary election.
He will submit the nomination form to Bogra Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Saiful Islam on Thursday.
He gave this information on the eve of his return to Bangladesh from Dubai on Wednesday afternoon.
However, he did not reveal the name of the political party before submitting the nomination.
He said: “There will be a surprise in the announcement.”
Before this, he participated in elections as an independent candidate in various constituencies of Bogra and Dhaka.
Hero Alam's relatives said: “He was an independent candidate for the Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency in the 11th national parliamentary elections. Later, he participated in the by-elections to Bogra-4 and Bogra-6 (Sadar) constituencies. Besides, he was also a candidate in the by-election for the Dhaka-10 seat.”
They claimed that he was defeated in the Bogra by-election through a conspiracy. Appeals to the Election Commission in this regard went in vain. So Hero Alam will contest in the Bogra-4 seat as a candidate of a political party.
Asked from which political party he had collected the nomination, Hero Alom said: “There will be a surprise. I will not disclose it now. I joined a political party a few days ago. I will disclose it during the submission of the nomination form.”
He added: “If the election is fair and free I will be elected from the Bogra-4 constituency.”
