Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) troops have been deployed in Tangail where the Zilla Parishad polls are scheduled to take place on Monday.
The voting would take place between 9am-2pm and would be carried out through Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
The CCTV cameras have been installed inside and outside of all polling stations for the first time in the district, said Tangail district election officer AHM Kamrul Hasan.
The Election Commission will monitor directly through the CCTV cameras.
District Awami League president Fazlur Rahman Khan Farooq won the election unopposed as chairman. He won the general membership contest in Ward No 2 of Madhupur.
Forty members and 11 candidates in reserved wards will contest the election. Besides, elections will be held in 11 general wards and four reserved wards.
There are 12 polling stations in the election. The total number of voters are 1,722. Among them, 1,315 are men while 407 women.
Sources said two platoons of BGB have been deployed in the election. One judicial and 12 executive magistrates will perform duties in the election. In the election, 12 upazilas have been divided into six sectors.
Superintendent of Police Sarkar Mohammad Qaiser said that 351 policemen will be on duty in the election.
“The mobile police team will work outside the centre during the election. Besides, each centre will have four police battalion,” he added.
Tangail district election officer AHM Kamrul Hasan said that there are four Ansars and seven policemen in each election centre.
No voter can enter the polling centre with mobile phones, he added.
