The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday directed deputy commissioners (DCs) and superintendents of police (SPs) across the country to ensure a peaceful environment in the upcoming Zilla Parishad polls slated on October 17.
The commission has taken all the necessary steps for free, fair and neutral election, according to a directive issued on Thursday signed by SM Asaduzzaman, director (public relation) of the commission and also joint secretary (CC) election commission secretariat.
So, directives have been given to all concerned including deputy commissioners and superintendents of police to send investigation reports upon investigation regarding violations of the code of conduct.
The commission said it will be taking strict action after investigating the violation of electoral code of conduct.
The Election Commission urged all concerned to strictly follow the rules of electoral conduct in the Zilla Parishad election.
The zilla parishad elections will be held on 17 October.
