The mock voting organized ahead of the Comilla City Corporation elections has generated a low turnout.
The Election Commission on Monday organized the mock voting in different centres across the city.
At 10:20am in the morning, this correspondent did not find any voter at the Comilla High School centre, the largest polling station in the city.
Meahwhile only two voters were found in Faizunnesa centre, Zilla School centre and Comilla Victoria College centre.
Lutfar Rahman, assistant presiding officer of Faizunnesa centre in Ward 10, said people are busy with their household activities. As a result, they didn’t come to the mock voting.
“If things remain well, voters will come to cast their vote on the election day,” he added.
Gauri Majumder, a voter of the centre, said that casting vote is very easy now considering the previous method as it only takes 30 seconds.
The voting in the Comilla City Corporation election will be held on Wednesday.
According to the Election Commission Office, there are 229,920 voters in 26 wards of Comilla City Corporation election this year.
