The Election Commission (EC) has set June 15 for voting in the Comilla City Corporation election.
Polls to six municipalities and 135 Union Parishads will be also held on the same day.
On Monday, the EC announced the schedules for the polls following a meeting headed by Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal.
The announcement was made at a media call by EC Secretary Md Humayun Kabir.
“The deadline for filing nominations is May 17. Officials will verify the documents on May 19 while aspirants will get until May 26 to pull out from the races,” he said.
Polls symbols will be allotted to candidates on May 27, added the EC official.
Balloting in Comilla city, six municipalities and the 135 union councils will be held through electronic voting machines (EVMs), said EC Secretary Kabir.
