Jatiya Party (JaPa), the main opposition party in parliament, will start distributing nomination forms among party aspirants for the upcoming Dhaka North City Corporation election from Sunday.
JaPa Secretary General Mashiur Rahman Ranga will inaugurate the distribution at the party office in Dhaka at 11 am, according to a press release issued on Saturday, reports BSS.
The aspirants will be able to collect the nomination forms for mayor and councillor posts and for reserved seats between 10am and 5pm on Sunday and Monday, the release added.
The DNCC election will be held on February 28, for which the candidates will have to submit nomination papers by January 30, the Election Commission announced on Thursday.
The nomination forms will be scrutinized on February 2, while the candidates will have till February 9 to withdraw candidacy.
