Jatiya Oikya Front leader ASM Abdur Rab has claimed that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina wants to forcefully go to power.
Rab, also Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president, was speaking at a press briefing at his house at Ramgati in Lakshmipur on Sunday.
The Laxmipur-4 candidate from the Oikya Front said: “Sheikh Hasina wants to forcefully go to power, which will be harmful for her. It is much more respectable for her to lose the election than illegally come to power.”
Rab said: “Awami League knows they will surely lose the election and for that, they are filing false cases, threatening, and creating obstruction against my party men.”
The JSD leader warned the government of legal action if the situation in his area does not get normal within the next 24 hours.
Rab, however, vowed to continue his election campaign despite life-threatening risk.
“Even the female voters are being threatened by Awami League thugs to not go for casting their votes. Not only that, they (Awami League) also have plans to throw out the polling agents on election day and take control of the polling booths," he claimed.
“They are planning to alter the results of the votes through this.”
JSD Vice President Tania Rab and District JSD General Secretary Syed Belayet Hossain Belal were also present at the program.
