Bikalpa Dhara Joint Secretary General Mahi B Chowdhury has withdrawn his candidacy from Dhaka 17 constituency.
Stating "unavoidable" reasons, Mahi B asked for the cancellation of his nomination to the returning in a letter addressed to officer of Dhaka 17 constituency, and the Dhaka divisional commissioner, on Sunday.
Earlier, Mahi B announced his decision to contest the 11th general polls with the boat symbol, on Saturday.

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader handed over the finalized nomination papers of three Jukta Front candidates to contest with the boat symbol to Bikalpa Dhara Secretary General, Major (retd) Mannan on Friday.
In a letter signed by Awami League President Sheikh Hasina, it was mentioned that Mahi B Chowdhury has been nominated for Munshiganj 1 constituency and will contest with the boat symbol, under clause 16 (2) and 16 (3) of the Representation of the People’s Order (RPO) 1972.
The general elections will be held on December 30.
