National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Chairman Kazi Reazul Hoque has urged the authorities to remain alert so no groups can use Rohingya refugees in the upcoming general election to worsen the situation.
He said this while speaking to journalists at a hotel in Cox’s Bazar on Monday.
He said: “We have to make sure that the Rohingya refugees can safely return to their country and there should be international pressure on Myanmar so that these people will get their basic rights.”
The NHRC went to Cox’s Bazar to take part in a workshop of an international organization. He also visited the Rohingya camps there.
