A two-day-long debate competition, Cute-BFDF 3rd National Debate Contest held at Rajshahi University ended on Saturday.
Jahangirnagar University Debating Society was the champion and Dhaka University Debating Society became runner-up in the contest.
Twenty seven debating teams from 22 public and private universities including Dhaka University, Chittagong University, Jahangirnagar University and Khulna University participated in the debate competition.
In the morning, a colorful procession, participated by guests and participants, started from the Senate building at 9am,.
Business Studies Faculty Debating Forum (BFDF) organized the event with the support of Cute Cosmetics.
Bangladesh Debate Federation provided with technical support for the event.
On the second and final day of the event, semi final held from 12 noon to 2pm at Deans’ complex conference room and the final debate held at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium at 2.30pm.
In the afternoon, a policy forum event, “Digital Bangladesh: Our Expectation and Experience”, held at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium, where Junaid Ahmed Polok MP, state minister of Ministry of Information and Communication Technology was present as the key speaker.
English daily newspaper Dhaka Tribune, news portal Banglanews24.com, daily Kaler Kantha, Jamuna Television, local daily Sonar Desh and Rajshahi-based community radio Padma were the media partners of the event.
