BracU students go on hunger strike

At least six students of Brac University have gone to hunger strike demanding the removal of the registrar and two other officials for their alleged assault on former lecturer Farhaan Uddin Ahmed. The strike began from 11am in front of the university’s administrative building while nearly 100 students are sitting-in to maintain their protest. The protesters also threatened to boycott their final exams next week if their demands are not fulfilled.

If they do not immediately resolve the situation and fulfil our demands, we might just boycott the finals,” a student told the Dhaka Tribune. When contacted, BracU Vice-Chancellor Prof Syed Saad Andaleeb was not available for comment regarding the hunger strike.
