EWU civil engineering program achieves prestigious BAETE accreditation

Graduates of EWU's Civil Engineering program will have their qualifications recognized as professional engineers globally, opening up vast opportunities for their careers worldwide

The Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering program of East West University (EWU) has been officially accredited by the Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education (BAETE), a wing of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).

Crucially, this accreditation is certified by the Washington Accord, an esteemed international agreement among bodies responsible for accrediting engineering degree programs.

This certification means that graduates of EWU's Civil Engineering program will have their qualifications recognized as professional engineers globally, opening up vast opportunities for their careers worldwide.

To mark this momentous achievement, a special visit was made to the Department of Civil Engineering on Wednesday. The delegation included the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees, Professor Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, along with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Shams Rahman, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr M Ashik Mosaddik, and the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Professor Dr Ahmed Wasif Reza of the university.

They were warmly received by the Chairperson of the Department of Civil Engineering, Dr Naimul Haque, and the esteemed faculty members of the
department.

This accreditation underscores EWU's commitment to delivering world-class engineering education and preparing its students to excel in a competitive global landscape.
