The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations for 2025 began simultaneously across the country on Thursday.
The exams commenced with the Bangla 1st paper at 10am and will continue until August 10.
Education Adviser Professor Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar is scheduled to visit the Vashantek Government College centre in the capital at 10:40am.
He is also expected to visit Government Bangla College later in the day.
This year, a total of 1,251,111 candidates are set to appear in the examinations.

Among the candidates from 11 education boards, 618,015 are male and 633,096 are female.
A total of 1,055,398 students are registered under the General Education Board.
In addition, 86,102 candidates will sit for the exams under the Madrasa Education Board (Alim), while 109,611 are enrolled under the Technical Education Board.
This year, the examinations are being held at 2,797 centres across the country.
Moreover, 293 candidates will take part in the exams from eight centres abroad.
The total number of participating educational institutions is 9,314.
The Ministry of Education has announced that all coaching centres will remain closed across the country until August 15.
