This year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examination results are likely to be published between November 7 and 15, with preparations already underway, according to the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee.
Professor Syed Akhtaruzzaman, president of the committee and chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, told Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday that the results may be released within the timeframe.
Although written examinations under the Chittagong Education Board ended later than those under other boards, the result preparation process is being expedited by appointing additional examiners.
This year’s HSC and equivalent examinations began on July 2. According to the scheduled timeline, written examinations were supposed to end on August 8 and practical examinations by August 15.
However, several written examinations under the Chittagong Education Board were postponed due to natural disasters and were held later. The postponed examinations ended on September 9.
HSC and equivalent results are generally published within 60 days of the completion of written examinations. As written examinations under most education boards ended on August 8, the 60-day period ended on October 8.
For the Chittagong Education Board, where written examinations ended on September 9, the 60-day period ended on November 8.
The late completion of examinations under the Chittagong Education Board affected the schedule for preparing and publishing results for all boards to some extent. However, preparations are being made to publish the results between November 7 and 15 through various measures, including appointing additional examiners.
A total of 1,270,583 students from 9,439 educational institutions under 11 education boards took part in this year’s HSC and equivalent examinations. There were 2,697 examination centers across the country.
