Education Adviser Professor Dr Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar on Wednesday said that the interim government remains alert to prevent HSC question paper leaks, as measures have already been taken to ensure the exams are conducted fairly.
“To prevent the incidence of reoccurrence of question paper leaks, the interim government has remained alert. We don’t want to see such incidents of question paper leak this time anymore and we have strictly directed local administrations in this regard,” he said in an interview.
“Proper steps have already been taken to ensure the security of all examination halls,” he said.
“Immediate legal action will be taken upon receiving information or allegations regarding question paper leaks or the use of unfair means in the exams. Besides teachers, the local administration will also monitor the process,” the adviser added.
“Use of any electronic device without the administration’s approval will be prohibited within 200 yards of the exam centres, and immediate action will be taken against those who violate this regulation,” he said.
The HSC and equivalent exams will begin on Thursday across the country under 11 education boards, with the Bangla 1st paper examination starting at 10am
The adviser also urged the guardians of the students to help ensure that the exams are conducted fairly and peacefully.
This year, a total of 1,251,111 examinees will appear in the public examinations.
Among the candidates from the 11 education boards, 618,015 are male and 633,096 are female. There are 1,055,398 candidates under the General Education Board.
Additionally, 86,102 candidates will participate under the Madrasa Education Board (Alim), and 109,611 under the Technical Education Board.
The total number of examination centres across the country this year is 2,797.
A total of 293 candidates will take the exams at 8 centres outside the country.
The total number of education institutions is 9,314.
The Ministry of Education has informed that all coaching centres across the country will remain closed until August 15.
