A collaborative study featuring researchers from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) is garnering international attention for its innovative framework on sustainable e-learning in emerging markets, said a press release on Sunday.

Published in the peer-reviewed journal Business Strategy & Development, the study is titled “Bridging Business Strategy and Educational Development: Private Sector Engagement and Value Creation Framework for Sustainable E‐Learning Models in Emerging Markets”.

The research team comprises scholars from multiple institutions, including Rebaka Sultana, Md Ariful Haque Chowdhury, Tawhid Ahmed Chowdhury, Shayla Tazminur, Iftakhar Ahmed, Nabila Ahmed, Abdullah Al Baky, Atik Shahriar, and Abdulla Al Kafy.

Notably, Iftakhar Ahmed and Nabila Ahmed are affiliated with ULAB, contributing significantly to this interdisciplinary effort.

This study presents an innovative framework emphasizing the critical role of private sector engagement in building sustainable digital learning systems in developing countries.

It explores how aligning business strategies with long-term educational development goals can enhance the effectiveness of e-learning initiatives.

The press release said: “Employing a comprehensive mixed-methods research design, the authors gathered insights from 780 stakeholders across Bangladesh’s higher education sector. This approach ensured a robust and inclusive understanding of current e-learning challenges and opportunities.”

It added: “The study identifies six key factors essential to effective e-learning: administrative infrastructure, technological architecture, content development, instructor capabilities, learner characteristics, and social support systems.”

It further said: “These components form the backbone of the proposed framework aimed at fostering sustainable e-learning environments.”

This collaborative effort involved researchers from ULAB, Bangladesh Army International University of Science and Technology, Tejgaon College, and Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology.

The findings are poised to influence educational policy, guide private sector investment, and support the development of resilient e-learning ecosystems across developing nations.
