Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (Kuet) has suspended all academic activities until February 28.
This decision came during an emergency syndicate meeting on Wednesday, a day after violent clashes on campus over a demand to ban student politics.
Kuet Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Mohammad Mashud confirmed the decision, saying the syndicate meeting addressed all student demands.
He said: "While most of the demands were accepted, the request for my resignation and several others have been rejected. The meeting also took a firm stance against all forms of political activities on campus, deciding that anyone involved in politics—whether student or staff—would face expulsion or termination.
"Additionally, the meeting resolved to expel those involved in the February 18 (Tuesday) attacks, file cases against outsiders, cover medical expenses for the injured, and ensure student safety. A four-member committee was also formed to identify those responsible for the attacks."
Clashes erupted on Tuesday over the demand to ban student politics at Kuet, leading to multiple rounds of confrontations among different groups.
At least 50 students were injured, most suffering from sharp weapon wounds.
The injured were admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital, the Kuet Medical Centre, and nearby private clinics.
Following the incident, five individuals were detained.
