The admission lottery results of Gaibandha Government Girls' High School for sixth grade included the name of a male student, Mostafizur Rahman, sparking criticism.
For the 2025 academic year, the results of the digital online lottery for admission to grades one through nine in government and private secondary schools showed the boy's name at serial number 30.
The published results revealed that Mostafizur Rahman’s name appeared on the sixth-grade morning shift list of Gaibandha Government Girls' High School. His father's name is Rezaul Mia, and his mother's name is Ruby Begum. When the mobile number listed for the student's family was called, it was found to be switched off.
Regarding this, the Acting Head Teacher of Gaibandha Government Girls' High School, Anwarul Islam, said: "I am unaware of the matter. If such an incident has occurred, it will be reported to higher authorities, and necessary actions will be taken later."
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education, ICT, Development, and Human Resource Management) AKM Hedayetul Islam stated, "I am not aware of this. It might have happened due to an error. The matter will be investigated, and his admission will be canceled."
