The Directorate of Students’ Welfare (DSW) at the University of Asia Pacific (UAP), in collaboration with Shomvob Jobs, hosted a highly anticipated day-long Career Fair at the university premises at Green Road, Dhaka on Wednesday.
The event, aimed at providing students and job seekers with valuable career opportunities, drew the participation of over 20 leading national and multinational companies, as well as around 2,000 graduates from various disciplines.
The event was inaugurated by Prof Dr Qumrul Ahsan, Vice-Chancellor of UAP.
In his opening remarks, Dr Ahsan emphasized the significance of such career development initiatives in bridging the gap between education and the professional world.
“This event offers a unique opportunity for students to engage with prospective employers and explore the wide array of career opportunities available to them,” said Prof Dr Ahsan.
Also present at the opening ceremony were Prof Dr Sultan Mahmud, Pro Vice-Chancellor, UAP; Prof Dr Sheikh Anwar Hossain, Treasurer, UAP, Dr ASM Mohsin, Director of DSW, along with members of the Board of Trustees, deans, faculty members, corporate representatives, and other distinguished guests.
The Career Fair served as a dynamic networking platform, enabling students to connect directly with top employers, explore various job openings, and gain insight into career pathways in diverse industries.
It was an exciting opportunity for aspiring professionals eager to take the next step in their careers.
Throughout the day, students had the chance to attend workshops, one-on-one interviews, and presentations by participating companies, making it a comprehensive and enriching experience.
Many students expressed their excitement at being able to interact with some of the top organizations in Bangladesh and beyond.
