Pakistan High Commissioner in Bangladesh Syed Ahmed Maroof held a meeting with the Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Professor Dr Mohammad Kamrul Ahsan at the latter’s office on Tuesday.
During the meeting, the envoy expressed his interest in signing multiple memoranda of understanding between universities from both countries for collaboration in education, research, and cultural exchange.
The VC thanked the high commissioner for the proposal and highlighted the education and research achievements of his university, noting that JU ranked among the top universities in Bangladesh in THE rankings for 2024 and 2025.
He emphasized the potential for cooperation in education and research between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
The Pakistani envoy mentioned a planned visit by a student delegation from Bangladesh to Pakistan in early 2025 and expressed his interest in organizing a seminar at JU on Pakistan's education and research. The VC assured him of taking all necessary measures for the seminar at JU.
