Female students have outperformed males in terms of both pass rates and GPA-5 scores in the HSC and equivalent exams.

According to the summary of the results provided on Tuesday morning, which compiles results from all boards, this year's overall pass rate across nine general education boards as well as the madrasa and technical education boards, stands at 77.78%. The pass rate for girls is 79.95%, while boys lag behind at 75.61%.

In terms of GPA-5 achievers, 145,911 students earned the top grade, with girls significantly ahead—80,933 girls achieved GPA-5 compared to 64,978 boys, a difference of 15,955 in favour of female students.

The HSC and equivalent exams started on June 30, with 1,450,790 students participating.

However, after eight days of exams, the government postponed the tests scheduled for July 18 due to unrest surrounding the quota reform movement. Following several rounds of postponements, the government ultimately cancelled the remaining exams due to continued student protests.
