JnU students told to vacate hall by Wednesday noon

All educational activities of the university will be closed until further notice

Jagannath University (JnU) authorities have ordered the students of Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, the only hall of the university, to vacate by 4pm on Wednesday, citing security reasons.

This decision was taken at an emergency syndicate meeting held at the VC's conference room on Wednesday.

Vice-Chancellor Sadeka Halim said that the students will have to leave the hall by 4pm. All educational activities of our university will be closed until further notice, but administrative activities will continue.

Following the announcement, some students began leaving the halls. However, others have rejected the directive, stating they will not leave the hall.

"As per the decision of the government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the academic activities of all colleges, including medical, textile, engineering and other colleges, affiliated to all public and private universities in the country will remain closed until further notice," the UGC said in an official order.

At the same time, for the sake of the safety of the students, instructions were given to leave the residence hall and to provide instructions to stay in the safe residence.
