Jagannath University (JnU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Sadeka Halim said that international standard research should be conducted on the sacrifices and roles of women in Bangladesh's Liberation War.
She made this remark on Saturday during a day-long workshop on research methodology for researchers participating in the third Junior Research Fellowship Program (JRFP) organized by the Center for the Study of Genocide and Justice at the Liberation War Museum in Dhaka.
At the workshop's opening session, the JnU VC spoke on social science research.
During this time, she also emphasized that the young generation should research Bangladesh's Liberation War and genocide from a multidisciplinary perspective. He especially thanked the Liberation War Museum for taking the initiative for such research work.
Mofidul Hoque, one of the founding trustees of the Liberation War Museum, delivered the welcome address at the event.
Under this fellowship program, around 26 student researchers from various universities across the country will conduct research on Bangladesh's Liberation War and genocide over the next four months.
