Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury on Wednesday said the government has nationalized a total of 828 educational institutes in the last fifteen years across the country.
"A total of 828 different types of educational institutes have been nationalized across the country in the last fifteen years since 2009," said the minister.
The minister disclosed this while responding to a query raised by treasury bench lawmaker M Abdul Latif of Chittagong-11 during the question-answer which was tabled at the National Parliament in the capital with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Of these institutes, 54 were School and Colleges, 374 were colleges, 374 were schools and 49 technical institutes.
Replying to another question raised by Nizam Uddin Hazari of Feni-2, the education minister said the government has taken various steps for preventing question paper leakage.
"Officials from all concerned including the ministry, intelligence, BTRC, district and the field officials have been integrated for maintaining security and confidentiality of the question papers for holding trouble free public examinations", the minister told the parliament.
“So, we are hopeful that the questions of SSC, HSC will not leak out in future,” he added further.
