The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education said that no conventional test or model test can be taken to evaluate the students of sixth and seventh grades.
The students of these two classes will be evaluated according to the guidelines of the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).
The directorate also said that the schools will be informed about the guideline later, said a notification issued by the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education on Monday.
According to the order, the students of the sixth and seventh grades will have to follow the approaches of the teacher's guide and curriculum prepared by the NCTB for learning-teaching and evaluation activities.
The order also mentions that teachers, heads of institutions, upazila academic supervisors, upazila or thana secondary education officers, district education officers, and other concerned should strengthen regular monitoring in implementing the new curriculum.
Students of sixth and seventh grades have been taught according to the new curriculum since the beginning of 2023.
Earlier in February, the government directed the NCTB authorities to withdraw two textbooks for sixth and seventh grades amid controversy.
The books, “Onushandhani Paath” and “Onushiloni Paath”, were prepared for the 2023 academic year.
