97% of differently-abled candidates clear HSC exams

They were assigned scribes and given extra time

A total of 224 differently-abled students attended the HSC and equivalent exams last year among whom 218 students passed, according to the results published on Wednesday. 

The pass rate of students with special needs in the 2022 HSC exam stands at 97.32%.

A total of four educational institutes had a 100% pass rate. No institution had a 0% pass rate. 

One of the 224 students was expelled during the exams. 

In the HSC and equivalent exam last year, the visually impaired and handicapped students were given chance to attend the exam with a scribe. An additional 20 minutes was also given to such candidates.

Moreover, students with disabilities (Autistic, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy) were given an opportunity to take the exam with the special support of a teacher/guardian/helper. 

The results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate and its equivalent exams were published on Wednesday. 

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina published the results at noon. 

The average pass rate of last year's Higher Secondary School Certificate and its equivalent exams is 85.95%.

HSC and equivalent exams were held from November 6 to December 13 last year.

A total of 1,203,407 students registered to sit for the exams. Of them, 622,769 were boys and 580,611 were girls.
