Apprenticeship Day Fall 2022 of the Department of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB), took place on October 28.
The event was organized at ULAB Research Building in Dhaka, said a press release issued on Wednesday.
Apprenticeship Day is an event to showcase different apprenticeship programs of MSJ Department, offering practical opportunities for students to engage in skills-based activities related to media, film and public relations industries.
Prof Jude William Genilo, head of the Department of Media Studies and Journalism, gave a speech about the importance of apprenticeship programs and how they work.
He said: “As a Freshman, you should start thinking about what you can do to impact society and the industry. You are investing your time here to learn. Learning does not just take place in the classroom but practical learning also takes place outside. Choose the apprenticeship program for you and hone your skills.”
A video screening and a presentation session of apprenticeship and outreach programs were held to give some basic ideas to newcomers about their programs.
A total of seven apprenticeship programs and two outreach programs were present there.
Students with excellent services and achievements in different apprenticeship programs in the last semester were also awarded certificates at the event.
