Jessore board outshined all other boards with its pass rate in the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations 2021 while Dhaka has recorded the highest number of GPA 5s.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday unveiled the results, joining a program at the International Mother Language Institute virtually from her official residence Ganabhaban.
The average pass rate in HSC and equivalent examinations is 95.26%, according to official data.
A total of 98.11% students passed the HSC exams under Jessore board, 97.49% in Comilla, 97.29% in Rajshahi, 96.20% in Dhaka, 95.76% in Barisal, 95.71% in Mymensingh, 94.80% in Sylhet, 92.43% in Dinajpur and 89.39% under Chittagong board.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,89,169 students secured the highest grade GPA 5.
Among those scoring the highest GPA 5, some 59,233 were under Dhaka Board, 32,800 under Rajshahi, 20,878 under Jessore, 15,349 under Dinajpur, 14,153 under Comilla 13,720 under Chittagong, 9,971 under Barisal, 7,687 under Mymensingh and 4,731 under Sylhet Board.
A total of 1,403,244 candidates took part in the shortened exams from 9,183 educational institutions under 11 education boards in the country, held from December 2 to December 30.
