Teachers of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department of Dhaka University on Thursday protested the appointment of Dr Firoj Ahmed as a professor at the department, reports UNB. They submitted a letter to DU Vice-chancellor Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique requesting him to cancel the appointment of Dr Firoj, saying he is devoid of morality. Dean of the Pharmacy Faculty Prof Dr Saiful Islam told reporters that a teacher must have experience of six years as associate professor to be appointed as a professor at Dhaka University. “But, Dr Firoj has only two years’ experience as associate professor at Jagannath University. He is an inefficient teacher. His morality has already been questioned by media,” he said.
